STILL HAVE DOUBTS?
Here are Some Common Questions About the Boys-to-Real Men Challenge.
How is this program dif ferent?
Our program is different in many ways, but primarily in two:
1.) The Boys-to-Real-Men 6-Week Challenge is focused on young men stuck "in the middle" (regardless of race or socio-economic background). A young man, of a single mom who may not be athletically or academically-gifted enough to "stand out" and receive positive attention from the school, but doesn't "act out" enough to receive negative attention either.
He's just a "good kid" in a tough situation. He may "blend in" but it doesn't quite seem to "fit in."

2.) This is not an "after-school" program. This program is not designed to "babysit" and "watch your son" just to keep him out of trouble. There are plenty of other programs designed to do that. Our program is a character-building program strategically designed and structured (limited to only 12) to teach and train your son on what it takes to become a mature, responsible, confident young man. And we will accomplish that by doing life and school with him for six weeks in the context of brotherhood, teamwork, leadership, and even family.
How much does the program cost?
The entire 6-week program tuition is only $97 ($159 to enroll two boys)! That's considerably less than a pair of Air Jordan sneakers. And if you really would like to see your young man "step up," we recommend you challenge him to pay for all or part of the tuition himself. This program is for his benefit, not just yours. And remember Mom, you also receive a FREE 6-Week membership to B.U.S.Y. Body Fitness (a $197 value).
Why is there an age requirement?
The Boys-to-Real Men 6-Week Challenge is designed to reach young men between the ages of 13 to 18 because this is the time when boys need the most guidance and are most likely to challenge authority or assert themselves in the home. For the older teens, it's excellent preparation to get them socially, mentally, and academically prepared to go to college or physically and mentally prepared to go into the military.
NOTE: We reserve the right to like you for proof of your son's age (i.e., birth certificate, school ID, driver's license, or any school records showing their date of birth).
Who is this program best-suited for?
The Boys-to-Real Men Challenge is for any young man who is any of the following:
-
Good kid in a tough situation
-
Struggles with self-confidence
-
Has great potential in need of direction
-
Lack of good, positive male role models in his life
-
Struggles socially fitting in with others
-
Emotionally or physically disconnected from his father
-
Spends more time on his cell phone than socializing
What happens if my son's application is declined?
If for some reason your son's program application is declined, it won't cost you anything. If you choose, you can re-apply for our next session by completing another application when enrollment opens.
NOTE: ACCEPTANCE doesn't guarantee ENROLLMENT. So, if your son IS accepted, please ENROLL him immediately to reserve his spot.
What will my son need for the challenge?
The only necessities your son will need will be reliable transportation, athletic wear, a smartphone, a possible desktop computer that can handle video streaming (unless his smartphone can), and a willingness to learn, be challenged, and have fun.
Will the physical challenges be safe for my son?
Absolutely! Tonua Martin is a certified personal trainer and was selected as a 3x-finalist for Chattanooga's Best of Best among group and personal trainers. With 23+ years of military and law enforcement training, she has successfully trained thousands, from stay-at-home-moms to superstar athletes. Tonys also has a team of trainers, whom she's personally trained (including her husband, Dr. Joe Martin) to work with small groups/teams during workouts.
Do you provide transportation?
No, transportation will not be provided. You are expected to provide your young man with transportation to and from all scheduled events or outings.
What time does the program start and end?
Most of the activities (i.e., group workouts) will be held on Fridays from 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. (after school) and on Sundays from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. (after church). Group video/virtual chats will take place every Monday @ 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Each scheduled workout and meeting will start and finish on time.
NOTE: Your son does not have to attend every event, but he is highly encouraged so he can take full advantage of the experience. You will be given advanced notice for any changes to the schedule.
Where will the program take place?
Other than Graduation Celebration, all scheduled events will be held at B.U.S.Y. Body Fitness Studio on 5600 Brainerd Rd, C-26, in Eastgate Town Center. All other meetings will take place online via video conferencing.
What if my son doesn't complete the program?
There will be no refunds if your son/grandson doesn't complete the 6-week challenge. However, he will receive a credit and can choose to re-enroll for half price for the next scheduled challenge if he still wants to participate.
Can I submit an application for a young man who Isn't my son?
Yes, you can. However, you can't without his knowledge or parent/guardian's consent. Also, you must ensure his full participation in the program, making sure he has everything he needs to successfully complete the 6-week challenge. An application must be submitted for each young man.
What happens AFTER the program?
The Boys-to-Real Men Challenge is designed to build leadership and help a boy transition to manhood. Upon successful completion of the program (i.e. graduation), your son will be given first priority/option to sign up for another 6-week challenge. If he chooses to enroll again, he will be expected/asked to take on a more active leadership role in the program. Upon completion of three (3) challenges, he will be qualified to lead a group of 12 boys under Dr. Joe and Tonya Martin's training and supervision.
